UP CommResSoc to hold first hybrid SalikSeek on May 6

Lgiordani | UP CommResSoc to hold first hybrid SalikSeek on May 6 | QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA — UP Communication Research Society will be holding its first hybrid SalikSeek on May 6, 2023 at UP College of Mass Communication (and via Zoom) with a theme “Engaging Practices and Culture in Diverse Spaces”.
SalikSeek is an annual research writing workshop for Filipino high school students. In line with the UP Communication Research Society’s (UP CommResSoc) goal of promoting academic excellence and social responsibility, SalikSeek introduces the relevance of social research and appreciates the value of research as a field in today’s era of digital information. This year’s event taps into participatory culture as its central theme to explore and establish deeper knowledge on people’s dynamics, niche, networks, communities and collective socio-cultural practices, in and outside of digital media.
The two-part research seminar and workshop will feature diverse lineup of prolific speakers and presenters that are well-experienced in the field of research. Czekaina Esrah Rapanot, Leila Marie Magno, and Jena Clarize Perez will be this year’s speakers and judges. Andrea Anne I. Trinidad, Cherish Aileen A. Brillon, Alwin C. Aguirre and Samel I. Cabbuag will also join the event to present their papers on discourse, popular culture, fan studies and many more.
