Meet LG’s Seven Standout Innovations at IFA 2026

A refrigerator you can talk to. A laundry pair that can recognize different fabric types. A dishwasher that washes and dries in an hour. Even a hair dryer designed with the same attention to technology LG brings to its home appliances.

At IFA 2026, LG Electronics (LG) is showing how some of the most familiar parts of daily life could become simpler, smarter and more thoughtfully designed.

Across seven featured appliances, LG brings together artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, flexible storage and space-conscious design. Rather than technology for technology’s sake, the lineup focuses on practical moments around the home—from keeping ingredients fresh and caring for clothes to cleaning up after meals and getting ready for the day. 

Closer to home, Filipino consumers can take a glimpse at what the next generation of everyday living could look like. LG’s latest innovations show how smarter appliances can help make familiar routines—from storing food and doing laundry to cleaning up and getting ready for the day—more convenient, intuitive and thoughtfully designed.

A fridge that understands what you’re saying

The next-generation LG SIGNATURE refrigerator brings Large Language Model (LLM)-based conversational AI into the kitchen as part of LG’s AI Home vision.

Users can interact with the refrigerator using natural voice commands, including asking for guidance on how best to store ingredients. Its new 6.8-inch LCD display also supports LG’s AI-powered cooling management, while AI Fresh monitors temperature fluctuations based on user patterns and can pre-cool the interior up to two hours before an anticipated door opening. 

It is the kind of technology that takes something as routine as opening the refrigerator and quietly makes the experience more intuitive.

Laundry that adjusts to what you’re washing

LG is also introducing its latest Fit & Max washer and dryer pair, combining AI-powered fabric care with energy-efficient performance.

The washing machine, which is scheduled for a European launch this year, uses up to 70 percent less energy than the minimum requirement for an A-grade rating. It is paired with a premium dryer that achieves an A-grade rating under the latest energy standards.

Both machines are powered by LG technologies including its Direct Drive Motor and Dual Inverter Heat Pump™, while AI Wash and AI Dry automatically detect fabric types and adjust cycles accordingly.

LG’s Direct Drive Motor technology has also been independently certified by TÜV Rheinland for up to 30 years of operation. 

One laundry tower, less floor space

For homes where making the most of available space matters, LG’s new flagship 25-inch WashTower™ brings the washer and dryer together in a single-body design.

The new size falls between LG’s existing 24-inch and 27-inch models and was developed specifically around European living spaces and furniture configurations.

Both the washer and dryer use Inverter Direct Drive™ technology, delivering reliable performance, enhanced durability and precise fabric care. The model also joins an LG WashTower lineup that has recorded global sales exceeding 3.2 million units. 

A refrigerator designed to blend into the kitchen

LG’s new Fit & Max French-door refrigerator takes a different approach to making the most of kitchen space.

Its Zero Clearance design allows the refrigerator to fit flush alongside cabinetry, helping create a more seamless look. Inside, the Full Convert Drawer can flex between refrigeration and freezing, while Dual FRESHConverter+ provides independently controlled compartments with preset temperature modes for different types of food.

The refrigerator also comes with a new 6.8-inch LCD display and has been recognized by both the 2026 iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award.

After cooking comes the less exciting part: cleaning up.

The LG Fit & Max dishwasher tackles that routine with a 1-Hour Wash & Dry cycle. Its QuadWash™ Pro technology uses micro-bubbles to help detergent penetrate food residue, while Hybrid Air Dry improves air circulation to shorten drying time and reduce energy consumption.

There is intelligence happening behind the scenes, too. AI SenseClean™ uses a digital turbidity sensor to detect soil levels and automatically adjusts the water temperature, cycle time and detergent amount for optimized cleaning and energy efficiency.

Key models across the new lineup, covering both premium and volume segments, achieve an A-grade energy rating. 

LG brings its technology to hair care

Perhaps the biggest departure from the traditional home-appliance lineup is the LG AirDew Hair Dryer, the company’s first hair dryer.

LG’s patented Triple Airfluidics™ technology generates high-velocity, multidimensional airflow for fast drying, while optimized temperature control and the AirGlide brush effect work together to retain moisture, minimize heat exposure and smooth hair during styling.

The device is also designed with everyday handling in mind. Its lightweight body is comparable in weight to a cup of coffee, while a patented Rotating Plug™ makes connecting it to power easier.

Magnetic nozzles allow for one-handed attachment, while storage options include a simple space-saving cradle and a Luxury Combo Case that works as both a stand and storage case. 

A cleaner kitchen look, without the extra touch

Rounding out the seven is the next-generation LG SIGNATURE Downdraft Hood.

Rather than hanging above the cooking area, the appliance captures smoke and odors directly at the cooking surface. Optimized airflow and motor control support effective extraction with quiet operation.

A built-in motion sensor also allows users to control extraction power without touching the hood, while its minimalist front-glass design helps maintain a clean and open look in the kitchen.

The combination of discreet ventilation, touch-free control and streamlined design is intended to create more flexible, visually integrated kitchen environments, particularly in open-plan spaces.
